About us

Youth stands for vitality. It is identified with energy. This youthful vigour transcends all nationality, all borders and unites all the young members of the society into a bond. This is a step to unite the youth from all over India and also to make the world realize our importance. We all know that we need to transform India and only the youth with their unique perspective can achieve this transformation globally. Lets all join hands through YFi.

1200 youth have already realised the impact they can have , WHERE ARE YOU?

शुरुआत तोह करो, बदलेगा भारत!

What is the basic thought of YFi?

We talk about a new, unconventional and unique concept of a youth revolution [ yuva kranti] through political participation which can be achieved through a Youth awakening.

We believe in working together.

We started about 6 months ago as a group of youth which wants to do 'something'. we then transformed into an organisation which knows what to do and is transforming the talking into action.

We started with the motto " ham kuch bhi karenge lekin sirf baten nahin karenge'

Who are we?

We are a group of youngsters who realise that there is a need for change and we take it upon us to be that change.

We are the change we want to see

Where are we based?

We are basically an all India group based in Delhi and have teams in 9 cities.

What do we do?

We work toward spreading about the need for change and that we need to start by changing ourselves and that ' India hain , isliya chalata hain' attitude has to go.

We remove the " I " syndrome currently prevalent in the youth. We all know that we need to change and every one wants it but they feel that they are alone and thus cant make a difference. We remove the feeling of loneliness and create a feeling of self-confidence in youngsters to work for the nation.

We are no chest thumping fanatic nationalists saying ' Mera bharat mahan' all day long, Rather we understand that it is not mahan at the moment but we have the potential and only the youth can harness it to make this country , this world a better place to live in.

How do we work?

We carry out various awareness programs like Project on missing elements of education in India for students of classes 10th and 9th, Gift a Tree Gift a Future Campaign, Batti Bandh Campaigns, Civic Sense and us etc. [ refer to our blog for more details www.yfi-issues.blogspot.com ].

We integrate with other organisation working for similar aims like us or even same goals like us like DYNAMIC in Kolkata, Youth for justice in Delhi, Sphoorti in Hyderabad etc.

If you want to integrate with us, do not hesitate to write to us at youthforindia@gmail.com

How are we different from other youth activist groups and social service organisations?

Well plainly speaking, We are neither. We donot target the government like the youth activist groups. We dont do something aiming that government should hear us out and listen to our demands, rather We target the masses. We realise that if there is an aware JANATA then there will be no corrupt NETA.

"Those who condemn politics to be the last resort of scoundrels are bound to be ruled by them."
--Plato

What are the qualifications for becoming a YFIan?

Well, the only qualification you need is the guts to stand up and raise your voice for change, a revolution, a youth revolution!

If you think that you have the guts, Come be part of us.

4. Youth revolution through political participation

5. To break the status quo and imbibe dynamism in the youth.

6. Spreading awareness amongst the youth of India, about the need and importance of CHANGE in today’s scenario.

7. Spreading the realization about the power and the reach of our voice.

8. Realizing that debating is only the beginning. We are what our actions make us.

Eg. Believe in yourself, stop aping the west!

12. Be the change you want to see in others

FEATURES

1. We don’t believe in fanatic nationalism but in Patriotism towards our motherland,
which every Indian feels

2. We stand up against every injustice happening in India
o PS: this does not necessarily mean that we venture into every field

3. Our target group is the people and not the government

4. YFI movement is an unconventional idea...aiming at CHANGE in the lives of people. We're not against the system,we're against the wrong doers.

For instance, to bring about CHANGE we use our right to vote, and we ensure that our vote is not wasted.

ACTION PLAN

The Plan

Phase I

1.Meeting of the core group and all participants this summer.

Agenda of the meeting will be the organizational setup and other important aspects of the functioning of the Organization on the national level, not on paper but practically.

2.Registration of Y.F.I as a non - profit organisation.

3.Opening up of active chapters in the respective states, and regular meetings should be held.

Phase II

Spreading the wings

1.Interaction with the University students, organizing marches and events for getting in more participation on ground.

2.Getting a strong hold and recognition with the Uneducated and Rural youth..,

[so what if they can't use the internet, they are the youth, and who knows?they may be excellent leaders.]

3.Open activism against everything that we think is wrong

Phase III

1.An all India newsletter would be a welcome step, where we put up articles and photographs and show what's wrong and how to solve the problem.

2.To uproot a problem,these are the steps:
1.Pray,
2.Petition
3.Protest
4.Participation

3.We dont stop till we've got our point across, even if it'd been that we'd be lathicharged, shot with rubber bullets tear gassed...whatever.We are here for change and until and unless we've got the change we dont stop.

4.Every city chapter takes up one underdeveloped area,it's their job that in five years time that place shouldn't be anything that's underdeveloped.....force the authorities to act.Make the people understand that if you've voted...then make sure your vote doesn't get wasted. Get in touch with other groups who are working. Develop the area. Show the people that cribbing is not going to take the nation forward.

>>>Till we are not met with violent attacks we will never provide inconvenience to anyone...the police, the traffic or anything.

5. Running small scale programs on the regional scale like serving the slum kids or spreading awareness among your own housemaids or trying to help out in orphanages

>>>If we are to protest..we use ways like the candle march, silent walks, organizing or helping the traffic move more easily..anything.
We use sarcastic ways for example,if there is a traffic problem and the police isnt doing it's job ......we do it.We' help the traffic move smoothly.

Phase IV

This's includes TOTAL POLITICAL PARTICIPATION we campaign,we speak,we march,we do ANYTHING that is good for a nation. In short Phase IV would mean Y.F.I is a political party and no more an NGO.
